Any active member of the Alabama Division may nominate a candidate for the Hall of Fame. Each nomination shall be made in writing to the Chair, Alabama Foresters' Hall of Fame Award Committee. Nominations shall include the full name and address of the nominee and a biographical sketch that includes information on the nominee's achievements. Two copies of an 8 X 10 portrait style photograph are required, but the nominator can elect to submit these after the nomination has been approved.

Purpose of Award
This award honors residents, former residents, living or deceased, who have made outstanding contributions to forestry in Alabama, other states, or internationally.

Qualifications

  1. Alabama resident, or former resident, and a graduate forester, who has made outstanding contributions to forestry in Alabama, other states, or internationally. Outstanding contributions to forestry may, therefore, be recognized in a limited area of influence and operation as well as state wide, nationally, or internationally. In addition to recognition of major contributions to forestry by leading public figures, equal recognition is given to the "unsung" members who have labored long and hard within their respective areas of influence.
  2. Character, integrity, and contributions to the community in which the forester resides, shall also be considered.
  3. Any forester, regardless of sex, race, religion, creed, political party or geographic location.

Nominations are due no later than February 26, 2008 and should be sent by regular mail or email to:
